Socialism is the enemy of America. This is because socialism concentrates direct control of property (which is more than just real estate) in the hands of the State. This State by nature must be run by a relative few self-appointed "elites" who in turn employ an army of bureaucrats to do their bidding and handle the minute affairs of governing. These bureaucrats will do what their kind does: treat people like inanimate objects. All history proves that that is what bureaucrats do.
Socialism, however, doesn't care about history or facts. Its adherents love to talk and talk about history and facts and even "science", but to quote Shakespeare, it's all just "words, words, words". "Sound and fury signifying nothing." America was founded to be a nation that stood outside of the way history had gone in all other nations up to that point. America is supposed to be a nation without a king and his royal family and his ministers, without a caste system. In return for this, we are supposed to be a nation of independent people who carry the fullness of responsibility for our own lives and successes or failures. Liberty cannot exist without personal responsibility. Slaves are not responsible. They also aren't free. In return for the absence of the need for personal responsibility in their lives, slaves get nothing more or better than to be possessed almost literally by someone "above" them. If they attempt to criticize or resist their oppressive owners, slaves can be deprived, beaten, or even killed.
Under socialism, there are two classes of people: those who govern and those who are slaves. Once again, history proves this. All history. But socialist politicians such as President "Emperor Dumbo" Obama and the crazy Liberal Democrats running Congress at the time of this writing don't care. First of all, they have the power--they are the kings and royal families and ministers, and theirbureaucrats are their sycophants. Secondly, they are obsessed with their mysterious religious faith--in their case, their mysterious religious faith is simply political. (This could go a long way toward explaining why socialists are so tolerant of extremist Muslims; Islam is an inherently political religion, too.) Their irrational religious faith (their faith, incidentally, is in themselves) leads them to believe that it is just and good for them to own all property and dole it out as only they see fit. The economic, psychological, and spiritual realities of this situation mean nothing to them. What matters to them is their power. Not even their money means to them what their raw power means to them.
Socialists in America today are Democrats. This fact is so obvious that that party might as well just change its name to the Socialist Democrat Party or something like that. But for those among us who are shocked or surprised at this development, all I can say to them is: why? Why are you surprised? Democracies always morph into one of two things: total anarchy and the violent demise of the nation or state (which leads to the rise of tyrants), or socialist states. Adolf Hitler, a Liberal and a Fascist, bluntly stated that he loved democracy because it led straight to regimes like his Nazi party. And when people today talk about the glorious democracy of ancient Athens, they forget that this democracy murdered Socrates. (Also that its own end was not so glorious.)
In 1831, the French marquis Alexis de Tocqueville, who was a fan of the United States and came to study it first hand, published Democracy in America. This was a work of prophecy if ever there were one. Some of the insights that de Tocqueville wrote into his book went like the following. "Americans are so enamored of equality that they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom." "I know of no country in which there is so little independence of mind and real freedom of discussion as in America." "In America the majority raises formidable barriers around the liberty of opinion; within these barriers an author may write what he pleases, but woe to him if he goes beyond them." "It is the dissimilarities and inequalities among men which give rise to the notion of honor; as such differences become less, it grows feeble; and when they disappear, it will vanish too."
Ironically, de Tocqueville also wrote "Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude." But recall what else he wrote: that Americans, even before the official formulation of the party of Jackson, were so in love with the idea of equality that they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in liberty. This feeling is what is played upon with frightening virtuosity by socialism's fascist leaders.
This is why socialists, waving their opinions in the air so arrogantly, never tolerate dissent. How much criticism of himself or his performance has Barack Obama ever tolerated, or even entertained? When the significant majority of Americans are saying that they don't want universal--that is, socialist--healthcare, the Congressional socialists simply ignore them and draft the bill anyway. Everyone among the masses must be hypnotized into believing that they are all equal. If there is inequality, there needs to be some new entitlement to right this terrible wrong. And who is to do the righting? Those on the far Left--the self-appointed elites of the socialists.
The more the government gives, the more it has the power to take away. And the liberal Democrats understand this. At least, the politicians do. Their followers show forth "so little independence of mind" that they'll just nod "yes" to whatever Rom Emanuel tells Emperor Dumbo to tell them to nod yes to--including malice and hatred toward Republicans and all other Conservatives. Modern Democrats are puppets, and their politicians the puppet masters. If a man wants to be a Conservative, "woe to him if he goes beyond" the moves or the dance that those Democrat puppet masters want him to do. The liberal sycophants in the media will do their part and slay you for telling the truth. How dare you break free of the servitude? How dare you be so unrestrained?
How dare you be that crab that tries to climb out of the basket? We will drag you back down in here with the rest of us! And we shall do it in the name of our god, the almighty State!
It was the great economist and staunch capitalist (as all great economists are anyway) Friedrich August von Hayek, who died in 1992, who told us the story of our situation today, the story that de Tocqueville wrote the first few chapters of. Hayek wrote the following. "A claim for equality of material position can be met only by a government with totalitarian powers." "Even the striving for equality by means of a directed economy can result only in an officially enforced inequality -- an authoritarian determination of the status of each individual in the new hierarchical order." "It seems to me that socialists today can preserve their position in academic economics merely by the pretense that the differences are entirely moral questions about which science cannot decide." "We must face the fact that the preservation of individual freedom is incompatible with a full satisfaction of our views of distributive justice."
The socialization of America has been going on incrementally, and we have talked about it in the general welfare clause. But as obvious as it is, we are taking the steps to socialism and it's being done deceptively.
Hayek once pointed out that if you place a frog into a pot of boiling water, he'll immediately leap out. But, if you place the frog in a pot of lukewarm water and only slowly and gradually turn up to the heat, you can kill him, for he will just sit there in that water until it's too late. Incidentally, from a strictly scientific perspective, this is not true. The frog will still attempt to escape the pot once he feels the water's temperature get to a certain point. But the reason that this tale was told byHayek , and the reason that it originated in the first place (it's been around for quite some time), was to give caution to people. You see, the American socialists know that they cannot get away with just tearing up the Constitution. There would be a new bloody revolution, and the blood spilled would mainly be theirs. So what they have been doing ever since FDR--in fact, ever since Wilson--is turning up the heat very slowly on the water in this melting pot of our nation. There was a little stalling when Jack Kennedy was the President, since he was ultimately a conservative. But since his death, from the time of Lyndon B. Johnson forward, the incremental implementation of socialism in the United States has been accelerated--even when Reagan was President (because the Republicans never had command of the entire Congress while he was President).
Now the time has come when the socialists in the United States feel that they can turn the heat up dramatically on the mass-frog. They can rush things forward--and that's precisely what they have been doing since Obama took office. Everything is an "emergency" and must be done "right away". There's no time for debate! You Republicans who criticize this and try to stop it, you're heartless and racist and stupid! Andwhatever's wrong is the fault of the great demon BUUSSHH! If we make mistakes it's BUSH's fault! (As if that's not absurd enough, they make no mention of the fact that Bush's errors almost always stemmed from the fact that he leaned much too far to the Left.)
They are jamming these things down our throats and the Constitution is nowhere in sight in anything that they are doing. And why is this happening? It's happening because they are desperate, and their desperation has made them reckless. They know that they are using the excuse of emergency as a mask for their power-grab--an old, old political trick. They also know that if they don't act with super speed, they will be so obvious that even their own kind will largely turn on them. Speed generates heat. Gotta keep things heated up, before it's too late and they have been voted out--or, as should already have been done to Obama, impeached.
They also understand this: that it is much more difficult to get implemented policies undone than it is to get them done in the first place. As soon as they give another dole out to people like the black woman who said that she wanted Obama in office because then she would not have to worry about putting gas in her car or even finding a house (since he, the Messiah, would do it for her), as soon as more entitlements are put into place and people's natural envy is fired up about the wealthy who are supposed to give away all their money and not even do so voluntarily for charitable causes but be forced to pay it by the socialist central planners, it is hard--not impossible, of course, but hard--to undo those things. People, in the Pavlovian dog paradigm, became dependent and that dependence makes them weak. They can't stand the idea of personal liberty any longer, for it requires too much personal responsibility.
When you learn the truth about Barack Obama you will discover this is why he and all of his zoo crew cronies and sycophants are shoving socialism down our throats in blatant hatred for America. It's because they have a vision: of their own power. Only this, and nothing more.
