Political Correctness

Political correctness is the natural continuum from the party line. What we are seeing once again is a self-appointed group of vigilantes imposing their views on others. It is a heritage of communism, but they don't seem to see this.Doris Lessing

Political correctness is a type of coded speech which allegedly is intended to prevent giving offense to certain people. To use certain words or phrases, or to even talk about certain concepts, is deemed politically incorrect and is supposed to be grounds for being chastised. This chastisement could, if you are an employee or a student, be serious enough to have your career harmed. To be politically incorrect could also mean to fail to use the "right" political correctness--so, for instance, you might find yourself coming under fire from the "thought police" if you talk about someone having a "problem" when you are supposed to say that they are being "challenged".

Being politically incorrect could also take the form of "inappropriate" actions--such as a sports team using a Native American symbol for its mascot or its team name and emblem. While sports team icons are always intended to be some form of honor (for why would a sports team deliberately put itself down?), this fact goes unrecognized by the self-appointed thought police.

The fact is that in practice, this absurd concept called political correctness makes it almost impossible to say or do anything of any substance--and that is the true intention behind those who insist upon political correctness. As Pat Buchanan has written, "Political Correctness is Cultural Marxism, a regime to punish dissent and to stigmatize social heresy as the Inquisition punished religious heresy". And in the United States, if it's cultural Marxism, you know it's part of the mad Libs.

As for those who may insist upon political correctness but intend for it to reduce prejudice and strife between people, they are just falling in line and doing the same ol' same ol' with regards to trying to apply air-headed academic solutions to problems that really don't exist. The reason that academic solutions don't usually work in the real world is because they are almost always out of touch with that real world--the world of real people.

But where the thought police of the Leftist Liberals have really been using political correctness in order to harm their fellow humans is in the area of science. When the pursuit of science gets turned from uncovering the truth to proving someone's ideology, you know we are in very serious trouble...oh, excuse me, we are being seriously challenged. Nowhere in science is this more abundantly clear than with the absurdity of anthropocentric global warming...which has since been re-named "climate change" (ACC) since the mild warming trend of the Northern Hemisphere has long since been proven to have ended in 1998 and a new cooling trend has taken its place.

Political correctness, above all things, demands and seeks to engender Group Think--the sheeple mentality. We wouldn't have much in the way of technology or advanced agriculture today if scientists throughout history had been forced to adhere to this sheeple mentality, and it's an absolute fact that bad science helped starve and destroy the Soviet Union. Let's look at the totally anti-scientific, Group Think political correctness concepts used by the minions of Al Gore drones to destroy real science for the sake of ideology--which they sum up as the "consensus" (which has absolutely no place in science).

  • Create the illusion of invincibility. They take and advocate extremely risky actions--such as carbon cap-and-trade nonsense--with no thought at all for any consequences to anyone, not even themselves.
  • Create the illusion of moral superiority. The advocates insist that anyone who doesn't agree to accept and take action against ACC is a moral degenerate, such as by accusing all scientists who know and say that ACC is a lie of being paid off by "Big Oil" (as if oil company executives don't have to live on this planet, too). So, they turn science into a morality play.
  • Create the illusion of unanimity. All advocates are led to believe that all other human beings who are not moral degenerates are in total agreement with them; silence is taken as proof of this assumption.
  • All advocates agree, consciously or subconsciously, to use just about the same preconceived script to explain away any warnings about the dangers or the folly of their ideas.
  • Stereotyping of all non-conformers is used heavily and viciously.
  • Conformity pressure: All scientists and others among the advocates who begin to question the advocacy more closely are called traitors and threatened, such as scientists being told they'll lose their grant money, their teaching position, or their reputation.
  • Self-censoring: In response to the conformity pressure, those among the advocates who have questions about their correctness suppress their questions and tell themselves that they aren't informed enough to have such questions, and thus should leave the answers up to "those who know what's best for us".
  • Mental guardianship: some advocates take on the role of creating and disseminating false information to thwart the spread of the so-called "false information" coming from the non-conformers so that the sheeple advocates do not have their complacency disrupted.
