Liberal beliefs (as applied to the economic and political spheres) have been destroying the United States for nearly 100 years now. It goes without saying that these twisted views (and twisted they are) have their roots in times that go back all the way to the founding of the nation itself; however, when we had the creation of the Federal Reserve and the federal income tax foisted upon us in 1913, it was the beginning of the current black tide of mud.
There are many Conservatives who would say, or could have it accurately said of them, that they hold liberal views in their personal lives. One of the great “Conservative” writers and philosophers of the 20th century, Ayn Rand, certainly was one of these people, and so today is a psychiatrist who was once her primary understudy, Dr. Nathaniel Branden. But Conservatives understand a few things that Liberals love to shout about but, when push comes to shove, live strictly against—principles that are unageing and timeless; historical facts; and science.
Liberal economics hero John Maynard Keynes once quipped, "I do not know which makes a man more conservative—to know nothing but the present, or nothing but the past." I say in reply to Keynes’ ghost, which lives on in those who cling to Liberal beliefs today, that I do not know which makes a man more liberal—to be utterly unaware of present circumstances, or to be totally ignorant of the past.
Liberal views on religion tend to be very simplistic. Either they call themselves “atheists” and concurrently insist that moral “truth” is relative (which can only mean it really doesn’t exist), or if they are Christians they insist that Jesus was a Socialist and so we, too, need to have a soul-destroying Socialist nation, instead of being this “Evil Empire” that we are (the U.S. is not only not evil, she is not even an empire in the modern world; the United States has been sitting at the head of a hegemony). Even Christian Liberals are much more concerned about what they deceptively call “social activism” and “being radical” than they are about the depths and historical roots of their own faith.
Well, it doesn’t get more radical than what the Founding Fathers did. And what were their views on religion in America? According to the Library of Congress, “both the legislators and the public considered it appropriate for the national government to promote a nondenominational, nonpolemical Christianity." That doesn’t sound much like what the Liberals accuse the Conservatives (who are mainly concerned with what the Founding Fathers thought) of believing.
The writings of the Founders are replete with words that stress the importance of religion in general and Christianity in particular. On Christmas Day of 1813, in a letter to Thomas Jefferson, John Adams wrote, "I have examined all religions, as well as my narrow sphere, my straightened means, and my busy life, would allow; and the result is that the Bible is the best Book in the world. It contains more philosophy than all the libraries I have seen." And Patrick Henry, the "Orator of the Revolution," said in a May 1765 speech to the House of Burgesses, “It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason, peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”
The Conservative view is that even if one is not a follower of Judeo-Christianity, religion is vitally important to a society, and Christianity allowed a new history to unfold to create the greatest nation this world has ever seen. Liberal views on religion are hypocritical as well as historically ignorant; for Liberals love to insist that they have no religion or if they do it is strictly a personal matter and doesn’t “interfere” with their lives like that of the primitive Conservatives. Yet, Socialism is a religion; and our current Democrat Presidential Administration and dominant Congress are utterly flawless examples of cult-creation and cult-progression.
The United States Constitution is to be the only recognized law of this nation. Our Constitution contains what is known as the "Supremacy Clause", and this tells us that the Constitution “and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby.” Yet, recently, one of our Liberal Supreme Court Justices said something utterly opposed to the Constitution that she is supposed to be a supreme interpreter of. "I frankly don't understand all the brouhaha lately from Congress and even from some of my colleagues about referring to foreign law. Why shouldn't we look to the wisdom of a judge from abroad with at least as much ease as we would read a law review article written by a professor?" said Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
Why shouldn’t we look to the wisdom of a judge from abroad when it comes to interpreting or enforcing our own laws? Who says they are so wise—did they found this nation? Besides, they are not to have authority over us. The Constitution is not “some old document”, it is not “dead”, it is not “malleable”; it is a brilliant document containing ageless, timeless principles, and it set down the laws of this land based on a couple of things that appear to be beyond the mental powers of those with Liberal views: rational philosophy, and knowledge of history.
If there is anything a Liberal can’t stand, it’s tradition. This explains a lot—such as why the state of the Arts in our society today is so pathetic (which is far more important than Liberals and even many Conservatives realize, since historian Edward Gibbon wrote that the fall of the Roman Empire began when the populace could no longer distinguish between art and garbage). Tradition means that which is handed down from those who went before. It’s a kind of “ancient wisdom”. Liberals think that traditions are just put in place one lazy afternoon on somebody’s whim—they don’t care about and don’t consider or research the myriad elements of practice, time, and reflection that make up a tradition.
Traditional values have been formed from the ground up—it is a perverse view to think that they can be changed for the better from the top-down. This has nothing to do with being stuck in the stultifying “well that’s just the way it’s always been done here” delusional mentality. If it were that, then Liberals are as guilty as anyone—since they continue to insist that Socialism is the answer, even though it has a 100% failure rate, among their many other unbreakable delusions. You see, Liberals think that they are always making new discoveries, and that anyone can do this at any time just as long as they have a “liberal” mind-set—they don’t need to sit before the master and learn of his vast stores of knowledge and skill before they come up with something new (if they even have the talent and drive to do that in the first place). This is why Liberals are always making things up as they go along, and why they never get it right (for after all, if they were getting it right, we would already be in Utopia, would we not?).
The Founding Fathers wanted a strictly limited central government, as the Constitution and their other writings make abundantly clear. This limitation upon government power is what has made this the wealthiest nation in history—and the ever-increasing encroachment of government into our lives is what is now murdering this nation.
What is wrong with being on the government dole, as Liberals want us all to be?
Liberal beliefs are clearly those of people who have no self-esteem. They resent those who do have self-esteem. Those who believe in independence and self-reliance, those who understand that liberty demands personal responsibility—those called Conservatives—they hate; they hate them even more than they hate themselves.
